Eminem’s first single “Not Afraid” from his soon to be released new album “Recovery” is already topping the charts at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The rapper is the 16th artist in the chart’s history with a single that topped the chart in its debut week.
Another great news for Eminem is that he will headline a couple of concerts together with Jay-Z in New York and Detroit. Both cities represent the hometowns of Jay-Z and Eminem.
The dates which have been announced are September 2nd and September 13th. On September 2, Eminem will headline a show at Detroit's Comerica Park, joined by Jay-Z; on September 13, Jay-Z will headline at New York's Yankee Stadium.
"This is a once in a lifetime set of shows and I know we're both really going to bring it to our home towns" says Eminem. "I've always hoped that hip-hop could play any stadium like other genres of music," says Jay-Z, who is currently touring in support of 2009 album Blueprint 3. "Fun and historic, a great combination all around the board."
This won’t be the first time that these Rap Superstars will collaborate on stage. Eminem was featured on Jay-Z’s “Renegade”, of which he was also involved in producing parts of the track. They also collaborated on “Moments of Clarity”, “Izzo (H.OV.A.), and “My Name Is”.
The tickets aren’t on sale yet, however further details should be announced shortly.
